AI-based inventory optimization for 490 pharmacies

VERITICO STOCK deployed across a national pharmacy network — automated ordering and optimised delivery schedules.

The company

Dr.Max is a pharmacy retailer operating a network of 490 pharmacies, focused on prescription medicines and over-the-counter products where on-shelf availability directly affects patient service. Group revenue exceeded €1 billion in 2022.

The challenge

The operator of 490 pharmacies wanted to push service levels further. There was still headroom on product availability, and pharmacists were spending substantial time on routine ordering rather than on patients.

The objective was to raise availability and revenue across the network while reducing logistics costs at the same time.

AI-based planning for every pharmacy in the network

VERITICO STOCK was deployed to forecast demand and set optimal inventory targets for each individual pharmacy, with automatic order generation replacing manual input.

Transport and delivery plans were then reviewed and redesigned so delivery frequencies matched the new replenishment pattern — without that step, automated ordering simply moves the cost into logistics.

The result

Revenue increased 5% and product availability 4%, while logistics costs fell and pharmacists saved around 2 hours of manual work per pharmacy per day.
